VTG Japanese Porcelain Dishes Trays ~ Koi Fish Lotus ~ 5 ins x 6.5 ins SET of 2

Description

These small vintage Japanese porcelain dishes/trays are gorgeous. They feature five swimming Koi with two floating lotus flowers and an overhanging pine of some sort. A thin tannish band outlines the design and accents the rim - it blurs into the blue, and has some minor wear in spots. Overall, the color blue predominates, with some white and scant orange and green. Each dish is 5" x 6 1/2" at its longest points. The rim is irregular and sports small tab handles. Both dishes are free of chips and cracks.
There are some glaze pops on the top surface that blend in extremely well with the coloring and design. The graphics are vibrant and intact, and no scratches were found.  There is no crazing on the top side of either plate, but on the underside surfaces, there is crazing. One has a glaze pop and moderate crazing near one handle; the other dish has minimal crazing on the underside.
The surfaces have retained a very nice shine. These small gems could be put to use as small serving trays or simply enjoyed as beautiful display pieces.
