Vintage Fitz & Floyd Japanese Kozan Gama Porcelain Sea Dragon 9 side Chop Plate

Vintage Fitz & Floyd hand-painted Blue and White Porcelain "CHOP PLATE" crafted by Kozan Gama/Kozan Kiln- a centuries old Japanese producer of fine porcelain. The pattern was discontinued in 1977-78
The 9 sided plate measures 12.5" across and has raised edges, so it's a deep dish.
The edges are scalloped but not in a rounded way.  I'm sure the 9 sides have some meaning or symbolism.
The design is blue and white and features a dragon/sea monster amongst clouds and ocean waves. The 9 sections of the raised edge have 3 alternating, distinct and intricate designs. The back/underside has a blue scrollwork that appears 3 times and the recognized Kozan Gama stamp is in the center.
This is an authentic vintage item from my mother's estate sale. She had this in her china hutch for years and It was never used for serving; only displayed behind glass or stored away between tissue paper.  It is in perfect/ flawless condition. There is no visible wear, cracks, chips or crazing. The finish is shiny. A beautiful piece for your collection!
