Extremely RARE 2000 Awesome Powerboats 260FX 26' Single Engine Catamaran w/15hrs on the hull. Im the 2nd owner of the boat. The original owners of the boat were (brothers) retired hydroplane racers from Michigan, however the boat went right to CK Motorsports out of the mold and was setup, rigged and maintained with an open checkbook by the late Keith Holmes.
Keith Holmes life tragically ended in July 2017 at a race in St. Clair when he was hit by Miss Geico. After the passing of Mr. Holmes the brothers decided it was best to sell the boat and I purchased it in December 2017, with no power. At the time it had 800hp naturally aspirated 572 and the boat ran 119mph. If you have a solid 700hp the boat will easily run 100mph.
The Sale - What Im Selling
Included with this sale is the 26' Awesome 260FX hull, Manning Trailer (steel), IMCO Drive, IMCO -2 shorty lower unit, Hydraulic Steering, Dana 1500 trim tabs, 2 Hydromotive props, Sea Strainers, CMI Headers with tailpipes and mufflers, rigging and pretty much everything you see less the blower motor. The front motor plate, bell housing and such is included in the sale.All the gauges and electronics stay with the boat, GPS speedo and the Garmin all stay. Basically drop in your power and go...
The Hull
The hull is in excellent condition and only has 15hrs of run time on the hour gauge, but it will need a serious detail as it has been stored in and outside at various times over the last 5 years. At one time it was wrapped and you can see parts of where the stickers where from some sun hazing that a good detail would clear up.
The Interior
When I got the boat the interior was basically new the season before (2016) and it looks great. The back seat, the wooden seat bottom and seat back that bolted to the rear hatch have been removed and it's currently a 2 person boat. The motor I built for the boat was a supercharged 540 and I needed the center seat area (see pics) for the intercooler to sit. My end plan was to put 2 racing buckets on either side of the intercooler and make it a 4 man boat.
Currently
The boat is sitting inside of Harris Performance Marine in Dadeville, Alabama. It has been there for almost a year for them to finish up the build. However due to supply chain issues in getting parts and complications getting other boats ahead of me finished, I bit the bullet and bought another performance boat. I have been patiently waiting for the cat to get finished for almost 5 years and it's time to let it go.
The 540 blower motor is currently out of the boat, but can be for sale with the boat separately. The motor basically has initial idle start up time on it.
I have no issue with going to Harris Performance and transporting the boat back to Panama City, FL where I live at no additional charge if it helps the buyer.
In Closing
These are ultra RARE hulls that love rough water and big power. Based on the Hull ID this was one of the last dozen (#8) built by Awesome before they closed up shop. The parts alone are worth the full blown asking price, you get the boat and trailer for free. Its being offered with NO RESERVE... Highest bid wins, PLEASE have cash in hand, your wife's permission and be prepared to pay for your winnings within 3 days of the close of the sale.
If you are thinking of financing the boat, then this is NOT the boat for you.
PAYMENT
a 20% Non-Refundable deposit is due within 48hrs of the close of the sale by bank to bank wire transfer. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of the close of the sale by bank to bank wire transfer or cash in hand. I have no problem meeting at Harris Performance to facilitate the final transfer of payment and title, but I'm NOT going without a Non-Refundable deposit being paid to me prior to making the trip to Harris Performance.
