Description
This is a beautiful set of three Imari stacking bowls with lid, and they could serve as dishes or even as trinket/jewelry boxes. The three measure about 4½” when stacked, with the lid on top, and each bowl is about 4½” in diameter and 1½” tall. Floral and leaf design in wonderful colors of pink to red, greens, and cobalt blue, with gold gilt accents. Each bowl has the red Shibata Toki stamp, representing the Shibata Porcelain Factory of the late twentieth century, under the glaze on the base. Two bowls also have a silver sticker for “O.M. C. Japan” (the Otagiri Mercantile Company of Japan). Otagiri was a line of hand-painted porcelain from 1954 until 1994, when Enesco purchased the San Francisco based company, and the Otagiri brand was discontinued. This set probably dates to about the 1980s, and it is in excellent condition—no chips, nicks, fleabites, cracks, damage or repairs, and the colors are bright and beautiful! Comes from a private collection. This set will make a perfect gift or a lovely addition to anyone’s collection!Non-smoking household.
